Your Event
New Location

Space Central had booked the second half of your 6-day workshop with the Alberta Northern Spirit Foundation in the same space where you attended Part 1.

However, much to our surprise and dismay, upon checking with their insurance company, ANSF was informed that their liability clause did not allow for such short-term rentals given the lack of insurance on that unoccupied space and no new policy could be secured before the October 12 session. We were only informed of this on October 10 and have scrambled to find a new location for us to host your previously scheduled event.

We have chosen an excellent alternate site and have posted the final details here. We will be using the Centennial Hall room and several breakout rooms at the Wild Rose United Church located at 1317 1 St NW in the neighborhood of Crescent Heights, just to the north of downtown overlooking the Bow River.

Please check back here prior to your October 12 session to confirm any additional details for this new location.

We are once again looking forward to hosting you for Part 2 of your training and we sincerely regret any inconvenience this disruption may cause.

Building View

Venue Access

  • Access to the building will be through the ground level doors on the south (left) and east side of the main sanctuary entrance. When you arrive at door, it will likely be on a programmed time lock which your instructor can open with a guest code. When you enter the building, someone should be there to greet you and show you to the Centennial Room which is down the stairs and through the corridor to the right (see the gallery below.)

  • Several breakout rooms will be available on the lower level for Thursday and Friday, and on the upper level for the exams on Saturday (rooms can be assigned by the instructors or chosen by each group).

  • Materials and belongings cannot be left overnight for these last 3 sessions.

  • Your appointed door captains will be Erika Deines at (403) 804-0124 and Flo Lye at 403-669-1211.

  • There will be three or four parking stalls on the south side of the church reserved for the instructors. See Erika for details.

  • Public paid parking is available at two locations. First is the City Public Lot #2 at 120 15 Ave NW, about wo blocks NE of the venue, and the Indigo Lot #253 located at 112 16 Ave NW, about 5 blocks to the NE of the building. Click links for directions.

  • If you do park in the neighborhood, watch for residential parking zone signs and time restrictions. On weekdays there is a 2-hour limit and you will need to relocate your car one block away every couple of hours from your current spot to avoid a ticket. Saturday parking is free on the street.

  • NOTE: Car pooling is highly recommended to limit the number of stalls used that may need to be paid for. Parking in the nearby neighborhoods may be possible where some cars can be left and then it's a walk or car pool to the building. Watch for sign restrictions!

  • You may also take city transit to Centre Street or 16th Avenue north, and then walk to building.

  • Breakout rooms nearby will be made available to conduct role plays and mock interviews. For Thur/Fri sessions, the Lower Meeting Room, the Youth Room, and one other meeting space not shown on the lower level gallery will be used for breakouts. On Saturday, other events in the building will allow breakout testing to be done in the Big Office and Small Office spaces upstairs.  See the photos in the gallery below.

  • Light kitchen facilities are available in this facility for coffee etc., or you may bring your beverages and snacks with you.

  • There is a fridge in the hallway outside the Centennial Hall already stocked with water bottles and juice for this group.

  • The coffee machines and kettle, as well as some snacks, are available at the back of the meeting space for your use.

  • Lunch break will involve a short walk to local restaurants along Centre Street or 16th Avenue north, or a quick drive to other nearby places. A suggested list of locations can be found on Google maps.

  • Washroom facilities are available on all levels.

  • Please clean up after yourselves by disposing of trash and recyclables in any available garbage in the building.

  • At the end of the Thursday and Friday sessions, another group will be using the same room in the evening. Please fold up the tables and place them in the upright racks in the back right corner of the room. Chairs can be left out for the next group. Store the coffee makers, kettle, and other supplies in the storage room behind the instructors along the right side of the room (see Erika).
